Purpose of the association
The Association Régionale de Défense des Forêts contre l'Incendie, more commonly called DFCI Aquitaine, is an association pursuant to the French 1901 law that works to prevent the risk of forest fires in the Landes de Gascogne forest.
Its missions include:
- coordinating work programs proposed by DFCI Associations Syndicales Autorisées (ASAs, property owners' associations), via Departmental Unions,
- proposing studies and forming discussion groups and technical commissions focused on issues related to a better protection of forest massifs and to strengthening DCFI's actions in the concerned department,
- seeking out and collecting financing suitable for program execution,
- representing its members among regional, national and EU authorities.
